Job summary

Career Movement is seeking an accounting manager for a well established food and beverage manufacturer in San Antonio to lead its accounting function during a growth phase. This hands-on role offers real ownership over cost accounting, month-end close, and collaboration with senior leadership.

You will oversee AP/AR, partner with operations on production costing and margin analysis, and support budgeting, forecasting, and audits. Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month end/quarter end/year end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls
• Direct experience managing or overseeing an AP/AR function
• Genuine hands on manufacturing environment experience with production, ingredients/materials, and labor cost inputs
• Strong cost accounting experience: product costing, bills of materials, margin analysis, and cost driven pricing recommendations
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Own month end, quarter end, and year end close, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statements
• Manage one direct report handling AP/AR, vendor payments, invoicing, and collections
• Partner with operations leadership on production and ingredient costing, margin analysis, and cost driven pricing decisions
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis alongside executive leadership
• Maintain internal controls and support external audit and tax requirements
• Use ERP and Excel tools to improve reporting, reconciliations, and accounting workflows
