Job summary

LHH in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the manufacturing accounting function. The role reports to the Controller and focuses on financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, and operational analysis.

You will guide the team to improve processes and support strategic decisions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong leadership, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
• Strong inventory accounting and inventory management experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Macros, and complex data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting activities and support accurate financial reporting.
• Review and analyze general ledger transactions; identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting workpapers for financial statements.
• Generate financial and operational reports for management.
• Analyze business transactions, costs, revenues, and trends to support decision-making.
• Support month-end close processes including inventory, accounts receivable/payable, and fixed assets.
• Partner with operations and accounting teams to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Assist with inventory management initiatives and cost accounting activities.
• Support sales tax reporting and compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain weekly KPI reporting for Accounting and Operations.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and cross-functional support to accounting team members.
