Job summary

CFS is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting staff and own month-end close in a full-time role in Galveston, TX. You will oversee AP/AR, review reconciliations, and support audits across government, state and insurance sectors, while shaping internal controls and policy improvements.

The role emphasizes hands-on accounting leadership, ERP implementation involvement, and a broad mix of operational and strategic responsibilities with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in accounting leadership (Accounting Manager or similar).
• Strong GL experience and month-end close expertise.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate monthly financial statements.
• Oversee AP/AR and manage month-end close process.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and bank activity.
• Support audits across multiple channels (year-end, governmental, insurance).
• Maintain internal controls and improve accounting policies/procedures.
• Lead, train, and support accounting staff and divisional teams.
