We are representing a well-established, growing organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, project accounting support, and team oversight in a project-based business environment.

This role is a strong fit for an accounting professional who combines technical accounting strength with operational leadership. The Accounting Manager will partner with senior leadership to support financial accuracy, compliance, process improvement, and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly close
• Oversee month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
• Support cash forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Oversee project-related accounting activities, including revenue tracking, cost allocation, and profitability reporting
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
• Develop, improve, and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and workflows
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports, KPIs, and management reporting packages
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve financial visibility and operational decision-making
• Support tax compliance activities, audits, and coordination with outside advisors
• Help manage accounting systems, reporting tools, and process improvements
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support accuracy, accountability, and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility
• Experience in a project-based, service, construction, integration, or operationally complex environment preferred
• Strong background in month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting operations
• Experience managing or supervising accounting staff
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Experience

• Project accounting or job-cost accounting exposure
• Experience with revenue recognition and COGS tracking
• Exposure to sales/use tax, audit support, and process improvement initiatives
• Experience working closely with operations or executive leadership teams
