Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for Dining Services and auxiliary operations.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Reconcile student, departmental, vendor, and auxiliary accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies, transaction issues, and customer inquiries.
  • Provide financial support and customer service to students, vendors, and campus departments.
  • Process purchases and financial transactions in compliance with policies.
  • Monitor expenditures, maintain supporting documentation, and track costs.
  • Process, review, and reconcile billings, payments, invoices, vouchers, and deposits.

Required Qualifications

Job Description

Support Services within the Division of Student Success is seekinga detail-oriented and customer-focused Accountant I to support thefinancial operations of the University Dining program. Thisposition is responsible for processing, recording, reconciling,auditing, and analyzing financial transactions; preparing financialreports; managing billing activities; monitoring account balancesand transaction activity; and ensuring compliance with universitypolicies and applicable regulations. The Accountant I reviews andapproves payments, invoices, vouchers, and supportingdocumentation, assists with purchasing and payment processes, andserves as a key resource for financial inquiries from students,vendors, and campus stakeholders. Working closely with SupportServices leadership, Student Business Services, Accounts Payable,and external vendors, this position helps ensure accurate financialreporting, timely billing and collections, and effectivestewardship of university resources.

Job Duties
Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financialreports for Dining Services and auxiliary operations in DSS supportservices.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and providerecommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, forecasting, and financialplanning activities.
Account Reconciliation and Customer Support
  • Reconcile student, departmental, vendor, and auxiliary accountsto ensure accurate financial records.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies, transaction issues,and customer inquiries.
  • Provide financial support and customer service to students,vendors, and campus departments.
Purchasing and Expense Management
  • Process purchases and financial transactions in compliance withuniversity policies and procurement procedures.
  • Monitor expenditures, maintain supporting documentation, andtrack operational expenses.
  • Assist with work order and expenditure tracking to supportdepartmental operations.
Billing and Payment Processing
  • Process, review, and reconcile billings, payments, invoices,vouchers, and deposits.
  • Coordinate with Student Business Services, Accounts Payable,and other university departments to ensure timely collection ofrevenues and payment of vendors.
  • Research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies whilemaintaining compliance with applicable policies andregulations.
