Texas State University seeks an HVAC Technician II to join Facilities Services in San Marcos, TX. The role installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs HVAC/R systems across campus buildings, labs, residence halls, and athletic facilities.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, technical HVAC training or 3 years field experience, EPA 608 certification, and ability to read technical manuals. On-call after hours is required on a rotating basis.

- On-call after-hours work, rotating with other shop personnel.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues involving chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, VAV systems, BAS.
- Install, replace, and repair HVAC equipment, motors, controls, thermostats, and related components.
- Monitor and adjust building environmental systems to maintain occupant comfort and efficiency.
- Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance calls in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Assist with campus energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and university policies.
- Collaborate with Facilities Services personnel, contractors, and campus stakeholders.

The University is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC TechnicianII to join our Facilities Services team. This mid-level position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration(HVAC/R) systems across academic buildings, laboratories, residencehalls, athletic facilities, and administrative spaces.
