Job summary

BBI Logistics is seeking an Account Executive in Columbus, Ohio, to focus on the brokerage aspect of our business. You will creatively self-generate leads and manage your own book of business through consistent communication with carriers and customers.

• Execute 60+ cold calls per day to build relationships.
• Manage freight movement and utilize proprietary TMS software.
• Negotiate freight costs to customers and carriers.

Job description

As an Account Executive, you will focus on the fast-paced brokerage aspect of our business. You will create and manage your individual book of business through constant communication with carriers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Creatively self-generate leads and qualify prospects.
• Execute 60+ cold calls per day to build relationships with prospects and existing customers.
• Stay up to date on industry trends to provide and negotiate freight costs to customers and carriers.
• Manage freight movement and problem-solve in real time by utilizing our proprietary TMS software.
• Proactively communicate when resolving issues and provide updates to customers and carriers.

Qualifications

• Confidence and strong self-assuredness to succeed in cold calling customers and making a sale.
• Mental endurance; an Account Executive will be on the phone for long hours, hear a lot of rejection, and must continue to push through.
• Willingness to go the extra mile by working after normal business hours and on weekends.
• Entrepreneurial and competitive spirit (if you’re not first, you’re last).
• Strong ability to sell and negotiate with confidence and a winning attitude.
• Maintain composure in high-stress scenarios.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to recognize and prioritize profitable opportunities.
