Job description

  • Act as a patient resource for all scheduling and billing questions
  • Facilitate comprehensive patient data collections, timely and accurate billing, prompt collections of payment for services rendered, scheduling coordination, and conflict resolution
  • Perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II level
  • Support patient care activities as needed
  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate appointments using hospital systems by performing visit notifications for patients
  • Conduct pre-registration and input or update accurate patient information
  • Process walk-ins, create new patient charts, and access systems for orders as appropriate
  • Inventory, order, and stock supplies
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Pick up and deliver mail to the mailroom
  • Ensure the waiting room is clean, stocked with educational information, and coffee
  • Complete ABNs and schedule surgeries and/or tests
  • Issue school/work excuses, send no-show letters, and take patient photos
  • Block schedules as appropriate and cancel or reschedule appointments as requested
Requirements
  • High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in customer service or healthcare environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer/basic keyboard skills
  • Telephone etiquette skills
  • General knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology is required
  • Basic proficiency with computers and data entry
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
