Job summary

White Cap is hiring immediately for an Account Manager – Accelerated Sales Program in California. The program is designed for sales professionals to quickly accelerate their career in outside sales, with classroom, independent study, and on-the-job training.

Participants will develop skills, customer and supplier relationships, and knowledge to succeed in outside sales, including account planning, product knowledge, and driving the value proposition to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field, or 1–2 years of sales experience.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with team members.
• Requires self-governance, proactive approach, personal accountability, and independence.
• Competitive nature with a drive to succeed.
• Goal-oriented with personal accountability to deliver on metrics.
• Open to feedback and willing to take action to improve performance.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize daily activities.
• Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Participates in classroom, independent study, and on-the-job training to learn the White Cap’s business model, products, vendors, customer needs, jobsite environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills.
• Prepares and executes account plans.
• Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
• Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
• Enters and processes customer orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This position requires operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 80% of the average work week.
