Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking an organized Undergraduate Program Assistant to provide administrative support for undergraduate programs, including building course schedules in SIS, enrollment support, and coordinating course evaluations.

The role reports to the Department Administrator and collaborates with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Undergraduate Program Manager, academic advisors, Chair’s Assistant, and other faculty and staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of administrative work experience.
  • Experience using computer software/programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team and independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies program needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
  • Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
  • May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
  • Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
