City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary, middle and high schools, helping students achieve academic progress, improve attendance and build positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor individual progress and collaborate with teachers to support classrooms.

We provide 2-4 weeks of training, ongoing support from staff, and a chance to gain firsthand service experience while contributing to a thriving school community.

Formación

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (Authorization to work in the U.S. is required).
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.

Responsabilidades

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to each student.
• Create and implement a behavior management system.
• Build interpersonal skills through daily practice and reflection.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Create an engaging, safe, and healthy classroom space with teachers.
