Job summary

Regional 911 Intake Solutions in Fort Meade, SD is seeking qualified individuals to join our 911 Call Taker team. You will handle emergency and non-emergency calls, verify locations and contact details, and document information for dispatch coordination.

Responsibilities include questioning to identify urgency, data entry into dispatch software, and relaying information promptly. Training and certifications are required to perform pre-arrival instructions and maintain caller privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent; experience in customer service/telephone support/public safety helpful but not strictly required.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines
• Confirm incident location and caller's callback information
• Use approved questions to determine nature and urgency
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software
• Forward incident information to the appropriate dispatch function
• Assist distressed callers with instructions within training
• Use language-access and accessibility resources when needed
• Provide authorized pre-arrival instructions within certification
