911 Emergency Communications is seeking a dispatcher to connect callers in emergencies with public safety responders. You will handle urgent and nonurgent calls, verify locations, and coordinate police, fire, or medical resources per agency procedures.

The role requires calm communication, accurate information, and the ability to manage multiple systems. This full-time position may involve overnight and weekend shifts, with overtime based on needs.

Qualifications

• Typing accuracy and listening skills are important

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and nonemergency calls within the assigned service area
• Confirm addresses, callback numbers, incident details, and safety concerns
• Assess call priority using approved questions and agency procedures
• Enter incident information into computer-aided dispatch systems
• Dispatch appropriate responders when assigned to radio operations
• Monitor radio traffic and update responding personnel as circumstances change
• Provide approved caller instructions within the limits of training and certification
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidential information
