Job summary

The City of Indianapolis and Marion County's Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency is seeking a Training and Control Operator to conduct training for EMS, fire, and police responders, and to serve as a Control Operator in the 911 Center.

You will document training, evaluate trainees, manage requests via phone, radio, or in person, and operate CAD and related systems. Shift is assigned per agency needs; office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years as a Control Operator.
• Ability to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Train new and current employees in 911 operations.
• Serve as on-floor Control Operator for EMS, fire, and police.
• Document and file training records and prepare guides.
• Evaluate trainees and remediate as needed.
• Handle emergency and non-emergency requests by phone, radio, or in person.
• Maintain familiarity with 911 officials and systems.
