The City of Indianapolis and Marion County's Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency is seeking a Training and Control Operator to conduct training for EMS, fire, and police responders, and to serve as a Control Operator in the 911 Center.
You will document training, evaluate trainees, manage requests via phone, radio, or in person, and operate CAD and related systems. Shift is assigned per agency needs; office environment.
The purpose and mission of the Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency is to provide operation and management of the Division of Emergency Communications - 911 center, Division of Emergency Management, and the Division of Public Safety Communications - technology infrastructure to the City of Indianapolis and Marion County. The agency is able to do this by cultivating a productive, collaborative, and compliant work environment in order for our workforce to meet the needs of the constituents of Indianapolis and Marion County.
This position is responsible for conducting training for new and current employees, including classroom instruction, on-the-job training, in-service, and remedial training as needed. Additionally, the role serves as a Control Operator on-the-floor for EMS, fire, and police first responders within the 911 Center. This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have two (2) years of experience as a Control Operator with Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency. This position's shift (i.e., early, middle, or late) will be assigned based on the agency's current needs.
Essential functions are regularly performed in an office setting without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
