Job summary

Public Safety Dispatch Network is seeking 911 Call Takers to respond to emergency calls with focus and composure. You will gather critical information, verify locations, and enter details into dispatch systems to support rapid response by field teams.

The role requires excellent listening skills, precise typing, and clear, calm communication. Training and certifications are provided to ensure safe, accurate guidance and pre-arrival instructions for callers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; customer service experience helpful.
• Strong listening, typing accuracy, and professional communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Assist distressed callers with essential questions and instructions.
• Follow language-access guidelines and accessibility resources as needed.
• Provide approved pre-arrival instructions within training and certification.
