Job summary

Public Safety Dispatch Network is seeking 911 Call Takers to be the first point of contact for callers reporting emergencies. They ask focused questions, confirm locations, and document information for responders.

The role supports 24-hour operations, may require rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Successful candidates have a high school diploma, strong listening and typing skills, and the ability to follow structured procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
• Customer service or call center experience preferred, dispatch experience not required.
• Strong listening, typing, and clear verbal communication essential.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and nonemergency lines
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information
• Use approved questions to identify the nature and urgency
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software
• Forward incident information promptly to the dispatch function
• Assist distressed callers with essential questions and instructions
