Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; public safety experience helpful but not always necessary.
• Strong listening comprehension and accurate typing are essential.
• Clear verbal communication and ability to follow structured procedures are required.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and maintain calm, professional demeanor.
• Verify incident location and gather caller information.
• Identify urgency using approved questions and enter data into dispatch systems.
• Forward incident details promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide caller instructions within training and certification guidelines.
• Assist with language-access and accessibility resources as needed.
• Maintain caller privacy and secure incident information.
• Support ongoing training and performance evaluations.
