Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to install, configure and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems in a manufacturing environment in Waukegan, Illinois. The role covers analog/digital controls, 480V power, servo drives and HMI interfaces.

The candidate should have PLC experience, familiarity with safety protocols, and the ability to read electrical schematics. Training and advancement opportunities are offered for this 3rd shift position.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrated experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Experience with servo systems preferred.
Experience with computerized maintenance systems preferred.
Experience with packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PPE).
Proficient with electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and related control wiring.
Provide troubleshooting expertise of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells.
Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces; modify ladder logic as needed.
Troubleshoot and diagnose communication protocols including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet.
Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors and production equipment.
