Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift (6:15pm-7am) to oversee plant production activities, ensure schedules and quality standards, and manage maintenance staff in the absence of the Plant Maintenance Manager.

The role emphasizes safety, staff training, shift scheduling, and driving continuous improvement through structured processes and 5S implementation, with a focus on cost efficiency and meeting customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of college, bachelor’s degree in business management or acceptable combination of experience and education preferred.
• Green Belt certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory position, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
• Must be able to communicate quickly and effectively with all members of the shift as well as with management, customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Directs the manufacturing and material handling activities on a given shift.
• Ensures employees are performing tasks in accordance with safety policies.
• Trains and supervises hourly employees in these activities; administers plant rules and procedures; recommends hires, promotions, demotions, transfers, disciplinary actions and terminations.
• Effectively manages the work schedule to prevent idle time and optimize personnel, machinery and material usage.
• Maintains standards of quality to meet customer and internal specifications; drives continuous improvement and 5S on the production floor.
