Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Shelbyville, KY is seeking a 2nd shift Paint/Pack Operator to join our on-site Shelbyville Manufacturing team. The role supports loading/unloading blades, quality inspections, and documentation to keep production moving and within safety standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and basic skills in tools, math, reading blueprints, and English. Overtime may be required; competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and standard work instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Light physical effort required, lifting, pushing, pulling 5–25 pounds.
• Ability to read and write English; understand and comprehend safety and quality instructions.
• Flexibility to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads blades at a productive rate, maintaining quality levels according to control plans, and using safe work ethics (PPE, MSDS and machine hazards).
• Visual quality inspection of each saw blade.
• Accurate updating of all move tags and piece counts.
• Identify and communicate possible problems which may be perceived.
• Report abnormal situations, including crashes, incorrect set-up, incorrect move tags or incorrect control plans.
• Operate, change over, adjust, troubleshoot, and clean machines and equipment as needed while maintaining proper flow of product to meet service level goals
• Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and other associates, exemplifying 6S principals
• Ensure all products meet specifications, maintain quality standards of product following quality assurance on FPI
• Properly fill out all documentation and labels
• Properly handle all scrap, rework, and mixed product
• Perform other duties as assigned
