Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker Shelbyville, KY, is hiring a 2nd shift Pack/Operator to load, inspect, and package blades on a paced line. You will read blueprints, follow standard work instructions, and maintain quality while using basic tools and PPE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to use and operate basic tools, equipment, & gages.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and standard work instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds.
• Ability to read and write English; understand and comprehend instructions for safety and quality.
• Flexibility to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads blades at a productive rate and maintains quality per control plans.
• Visual quality inspection of each saw blade.
• Update move tags and piece counts accurately.
• Identify and communicate potential problems promptly.
• Report abnormal situations such as crashes or incorrect setups.
• Operate, change over, adjust, troubleshoot, and clean machines as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow 6S principles.
• Ensure products meet specifications and QA standards.
• Fill out all documentation and labels correctly.
• Handle scrap, rework, and mixed product; perform other duties as assigned.
