ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage the second shift in the paint operations, overseeing a Team Leader and about 25 operators in a high-volume automotive supplier facility in Grand Rapids, MI.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, delivery, and productivity, with hands-on floor leadership and a focus on continuous improvement in a unionized environment. Strong coaching and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production teams in high-volume manufacturing.
• Familiar with lean, 5S, and continuous improvement methods.
• Knowledge of union environments and shift management.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership for second-shift paint operations.
• Lead one Team Leader and ~25 employees across multiple functions.
• Allocate labor and resources to meet daily targets.
• Monitor line performance, quality, scrap, downtime, and material usage.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures and regs.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve defects.
• Troubleshoot automated paint line, robotics, conveyors, sensors, and controls.
• Ensure proper staging and control of paint and materials for uninterrupted ops.
• Conduct shift start-up meetings and handovers to next shift.
• Train and develop staff, enforce standardized work, and apply policies.
• Prepare production reports and drive continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, root cause).
