Confident Search Consultants seeks a Production Supervisor for the second shift in a Grand Rapids automotive painting environment. You will lead one Team Leader and about 25 employees across loading, unloading, line support, and quality audits.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement, with strong coaching, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration. Schedule runs 2:20 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday–Friday.

• Strong floor leadership skills to organize people, set expectations and maintain accountability.

Aufgaben

• Provide hands-on leadership for second-shift paint operations and ensure safe, efficient execution of the production schedule.
• Lead one Team Leader and ~25 production employees across loading, unloading, line support, inventory, material handling, and quality functions.
• Assign labor and resources to meet daily production requirements and maintain shift continuity.
• Monitor line performance, quality, scrap, downtime, and material usage; take corrective action when targets are not met.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures and environmental and safety regulations.
• Resolve defects and process variation with cross-functional teams in Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production.
• Troubleshoot automated paint line, robotics, conveyors, sensors, and controls; escalate as needed to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper staging and control of paint, components, packaging, and materials.
• Lead shift start-up meetings, set priorities, and hand over to next shift and plant leadership.
• Train and develop employees; reinforce standardized work and discipline within a unionized environment.
• Prepare production reports, attendance, quality documentation, and lean improvements.
