Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a 2nd Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a high-speed packaging operation in Jefferson, WI. This direct-hire, full-time role offers $33.90/hr starting pay plus time-and-a-half for hours over 8 in a shift, double-time on Sundays, and a full benefits package.

Operate in a clean, sanitary food production environment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting hydraulic/pneumatic systems, maintaining conveyors, and executing floor-level welding.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance in a high-speed environment (sanitary food manufacturing / GMP preferred).
• 3+ years maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• 3+ years maintaining conveyors, drive assemblies, gearboxes, and high-speed mechanical drives.
• Welding (MIG/TIG) and basic fabrication experience.
• US citizenship or Green Card; residency within 45-minute radius of Jefferson, WI.

Responsibilities

• High-speed equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance on sanitary processing and packaging machinery.
• Inspect, diagnose, and rebuild hydraulic/pneumatic circuits and power distribution systems.
• Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and power transmission components.
• Perform TIG/MIG welding and basic fabrication for machine repair.
• Ensure GMP and sanitary compliance in all maintenance work.
• Collaborate with 2nd shift operators and sanitation teams to minimize downtime.
