Job summary

MidSouth Electric Co-op is seeking a dispatcher to support the System Operations team in the safe, reliable operation of the electric distribution system from a 24-hour control center.

Responsibilities include monitoring real-time conditions, dispatching crews and tickets, coordinating line switching, and maintaining essential records while communicating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to multitask, troubleshoot quickly and efficiently.
• Strong technical skills, sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize information sources while remaining calm in a safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time system conditions from a 24-hour control center.
• Dispatch crews, service orders, and outage tickets; coordinate line switching.
• Manage outage, trouble, storm and emergency communications.
• Maintain logs, outage reports, lock-out/tag-out records, and work management data.
• Communicate clearly with employees, members, contractors, emergency responders, and other utilities.
