Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative seeks a skilled operator to plan, coordinate, and direct switching and tagging for the electric distribution grid. You will write clearances for field personnel, monitor loads, and lead restoration efforts in coordination with the PEC Transmission Control Center and other regions as conditions cross jurisdictional lines.

This role requires knowledge of SCADA/ADMS/OMS platforms, electrical theory, switching, and NERC procedures.

Qualifications

Knowledge of OSI SCADA, ADMS and OMS platforms.
Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical theory.
Knowledge of electrical switching and tagging principles and requirements.
Knowledge of NERC policies and procedures.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, direct switching and tagging for the distribution system.
Write, check and issue clearances to field personnel; monitor loads and restoration.
Coordinate with PEC Transmission Control Center and other regions.
Assist 24/7 real-time control staff for system reliability.
Dispatch field personnel; communicate with dispatchers, engineers and crews.
Perform troubleshooting, data analysis, and restoration reporting.
Develop, approve, and generate daily reports; monitor SCADA/OMS systems.
