Job summary

South Central Power Company, Ohio’s largest electric cooperative, is hiring two Assistant System Operators in Lancaster, OH. The role supports safe and reliable operation of the distribution system, coordinating field crews, outages, and communications between employees, members, and external agencies.

The position offers growth to a fully qualified System Operator with increased responsibilities and compensation as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in utility operations, dispatching, system operations, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate the two-way radio system to relay information, dispatch crews, and communicate updates.
• Monitor, document, and assist with operation of the SCADA system.
• Maintain and update outage information within OMS, including ETORs and crew assignments.
• Support system mapping activities, updating GIS records and maps.
• Remotely operate system devices as authorized by personnel.
• Coordinate with Member Services for disconnects, reconnects, and service orders.
