Job summary

WinCo Foods in Reno, NV, is seeking a friendly Self-Checkout Attendant to support customers at our 24/7 retail locations. You will operate two-aisle check stands or a multi-station self-checkout lane, assist with transactions, maintain pricing accuracy, and ensure a clean, safe work area.

Shifts span early morning to late night, including weekends. The role requires strong customer service, cash handling, and communication skills, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

Qualifications

• Work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Perform friendly, courteous, tactful relations with customers and co-workers with composure.
• Communicate (hearing and speech) to perform customer relation tasks.
• Complete written forms.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and serves customers, maintaining a friendly, enthusiastic service attitude.
• Operates check stand equipment (cash register, scanner, scale) to process orders.
• Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Handles monetary transactions, including cash, checks, gift certificates, coupons, and refunds.
• Maintains knowledge of product locations and pricing; ensures proper stocking and cleanliness.
• May be assigned to a self-checkout lane or customer service desk as needed.
• Follows all laws and company policy on sale of restricted items (tobacco, alcohol).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
