Martin Sprocket & Gear in Montpelier, OH is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our precision-driven manufacturing team. You will set up and operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines, following process sheets and blueprints to produce quality components.

You’ll monitor operations, inspect parts with calipers and gauges, uphold safety protocols, and collaborate with supervisors to optimize production.

Qualifications

• Math skills to read and comprehend English instructions and logs.
• Must be physically able to lift and move heavy items.
• Follow company policies and timekeeping rules.
• Stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Learn fundamental machining concepts and use measuring devices.
• Work with supervisors to optimize production processes.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
• Install machine fixtures to align and secure dies, punches, blades, or fixtures.
• Set up and operate machines (lathes, mills, drills, presses, CNC) per specs.
• Inspect finished products with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to meet tolerances.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness; wear PPE and follow safety rules.
• Assist in other areas as needed to support production.
