Job summary
Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator for the Functional Core Program to work 1:1 with a student. You will assist with IEP goals, personal care, and health-related tasks under a certificated teacher.
The role requires teamwork, reliability, and a strong commitment to student safety and well-being. The position involves supporting daily instructional and non-instructional activities, including behavior support and collaboration with staff, with a focus on functional life skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IEPs and related educational plans.
- Ability to follow safety and health procedures in student care.
- Experience or training in behavior management and de-escalation.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate with staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with meeting IEP goals and keep records.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Assist with student personal care and health needs.
- Administer routine medical procedures as directed by nurse.
- Support lunch, recess, PE, music, and library activities.
- Escort students on and off buses and ensure safety.
