Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Singapore is seeking an EHS professional to lead safety initiatives in marine sites. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in EHS within marine, shipyard, or offshore industries, holding a diploma or degree in a related field. Key responsibilities include overseeing safety protocols, managing risk assessments, and compliance reporting. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Lead EHS briefing and kickoff sessions before vessel arrival to ensure all teams understand safety expectations.
  • Support the SRM/PM in identifying and mitigating hazards prior to commencement of work activities.
  • Carry out certifications for hot work, confined space tasks, and other high-risk activities.
  • Participate in client-led EHS audits and support compliance efforts at various marine work sites.
  • Manage monthly safety reporting, including SOC hazard submissions, committee meetings, and inspection coordination.
  • Maintain and update project EHS documentation, vessel safety coordination boards, and PTW implementation records.
  • Oversee the deployment, inspection, and readiness of firefighting and rescue equipment on vessels.
  • Drive the execution of project safety programs, incident prevention initiatives, and risk management activities, including investigation of accidents and near misses.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or an engineering-related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of EHS experience within marine, shipyard, or offshore industries.
  • Certifications in Hot Work Assessment and Confined Space assessment are advantageous.
  • Solid knowledge of WSH Act requirements and shipbuilding/ship repair safety regulations.
  • Strong skills in safety documentation, incident investigation, and analytical reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for preparation of reports, presentations, and safety records.
