Data Science & Innovation Team

You will be part of a team of data scientists building AI solutions to support GIC enterprise‑wide users. As the centre of excellence for AI in GIC, you will build advanced tools and platforms that impact all departments of GIC, including both investment and corporate functions. You will have opportunity to work in both central team or directly with stakeholder departments.

What will you do as a Data Scientist?
  • Design and implement AI workflows to solve business problems.
  • Deploy AI solutions to production and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Independently conduct research on idea generation in the investment process and corporate function support.
  • Work on GIC’s LLM initiatives and other machine learning or data science areas.
What Qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Formal training in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline), and experience in an applied research environment.
  • Strong LLM experience in industry settings.
  • Strong software engineering skills and best practices (e.g., code smell, single‑responsibility principle, functional programming).
  • Strong statistical fundamentals, experience conducting hypothesis testing and sampling; demonstrated programming skills.
  • Understanding of financial markets, including multi‑asset research, is a plus.
  • Understanding of data available in the investment management industry and experience accessing such data to support research efforts.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with end‑to‑end research project work from data gathering to hypothesis testing and model implementation.
  • At least 8 years of hands‑on engineering experience with software projects related to data science or machine learning.
  • Good communication skills; able to explain results clearly to stakeholders.
