What does the job involve?

The operator will be responsible for planning, scheduling and managing the waterborne transportation of Liquid Petroleum Gas - LPG. This includes supply scheduling logistics, analysis of tankage inventories, communication with shippers, agents, inspection companies, counterparties and other internal and external stakeholders. You are utilizing your operational knowledge to independently solve complex tasks with a short-term operational or tactical impact/risk. You deliver on tasks with significant impacts on team objectives. You independently communicate within the immediate team incl. traders, across different areas, and towards key stakeholders, including partners or external parties. You may navigate potentially conflicting agendas. You adhere to established procedures and identify as well as resolve challenges. You proactively seek continuous improvement, embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working and take ownership of your own work. You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Manage and optimize the transportation of LPG (pressurized and refrigerated cargoes) in the energy portfolio, ensuring efficient flow assurance and optimization.
  • Plan, schedule and optimize the transport of LPG products, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing disruptions, in close co-ordination with the LPG trading desk.
  • Analyse tankage inventories, storage capacity and ensure product availability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to energy transportation and flow assurance.
  • Responsible for correct, timely updates of relevant operational and reporting systems.
  • Participating in the on-call duty system within the operation team.

  • Minimum 5-10 years operational experience in managing LPG cargo shipments.
  • Preferable 2-5 years’ experience in pressurized LPG operations, cargo and ship operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Economics, Logistics or related disciplines. Experience from trading operations from an oil company, trading house or shipping is an advantage.
  • Familiar with using IT technology and IMOS voyage system is an advantage.
  • High ethical awareness and integrity, and with focus on safe operations and HSE.
  • Proactive, flexible and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable to work under pressure and tight deadlines, agile and efficient working attitude.
  • Commercial mindset with proven track record in delivering value add to the P&L.
  • Proficiency in English language is required; Mandarin is an advantage.
