Job description
Position Summary

The Senior Vice President, Investment Solutions – Asia ex Japan will be responsible for marketing TCW’s investment management services to Financial Institutions (SWF, Insurance, Banks, Pension Funds etc.) in the Southeast Asia region in Singapore. The goal is to contribute to the growth of assets under management across all asset class disciplines including fixed income, equities and alternatives. The role will focus on acquiring new clients, servicing existing clients and contributing to a successful Investors sale and marketing program in Southeast Asia.

Essential Duties
  • Undertake prospecting including regular presentations for new business opportunities in Southeast Asia
  • Work closely with all members of the TCW sales, business support and marketing team in Asia and Los Angeles
  • Consistently provide market intelligence to help guide new product development initiatives and current product enhancement efforts
  • Develop a business plan for the region that includes long-term and short-term goals along with action plans for achieving those goals
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop each relationship into a strategic partnership status through strong negotiating skills and the ability to create a mutually beneficial relationship
  • Proactively prepare, communicate, and review with management progress towards sales and business objectives
  • Cultivate client relationships
  • Effectively communicate the investment philosophy, process, products and performance to existing and prospective clients as a proxy for the investment management team. Act as both a salesperson and a product specialist evidencing a strong desire to be fully immersed in the investment capabilities of TCW
  • Initiate, contribute to, and supervise marketing proposals, RFPs and Business Development initiatives in Asia.
  • Act as back-up when team members are traveling
  • Manage client database
  • Participate in periodic strategic budgeting and sales projection planning
Required Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will be an accomplished Asian Institutional Sales professional with a minimum 10-15 years of experience for SVP level.
  • Extensive and current contacts with Financial Institutions in the Southeast Asia Region
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • High degree of initiative, results-orientation and entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to explain and discuss sophisticated investment products and investment strategy.
  • He/she must be comfortable with building long-term relationships and have a keen understanding of the sales cycle.
  • Strong academic background including an advanced degree such as a MBA or a professional certification such as the CFA, is preferred
  • Experience outside of an institutional sales role such as with a plan sponsor, pension consultancy, or as an investment professional, could also be helpful
Professional Skills Qualifications
  • Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of a broad range of fixed income products and their related investment philosophies and disciplines
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills (CFA is preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to explain sophisticated investment products and strategies
