Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, hands‑on Senior Vice President – Project Portfolio Management to lead our Corporate PMO. This role is not just about oversight, it requires direct, active engagement in the planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of complex technology projects across internal functions. The SVP will personally manage several high‑impact projects, ensuring strategic alignment, excellence in delivery, and measurable organizational outcomes. In addition to project leadership, the SVP will serve as a mentor and coach for a team of experienced project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. At SGX, the project manager’s primary purpose is to lead, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple projects, often working side‑by‑side with their teams to resolve challenges and drive progress.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on leadership for a portfolio of projects, directly managing key initiatives while guiding and supporting project managers on others.
  • Actively engage in project planning, execution, and delivery, stepping in to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and ensure project success.
  • Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards, including budgeting, budget tracking, and risk management.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, fostering professional growth and high performance through direct involvement and coaching.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and influence strategic decisions that impact project outcomes.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, manage risks, and ensure timely, transparent reporting to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and tools, leading by example in adopting best practices.
  • Represent the PMO in executive forums, actively influencing organizational strategy and ensuring that project outcomes align with business objectives.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience (15+ years) in project and portfolio management within financial technology or financial services, with a track record of hands‑on project delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and directly managing enterprise‑level technology programs and portfolios.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring and working closely with senior project managers.
  • Expertise in PMO governance, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), and best practices, with a willingness to be directly involved in project execution.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in portfolio management tools and reporting systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certifications.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives and emerging fintech technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in financial services.
  • Strong change management and organizational development capabilities.
