Job description

1. JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for carrying out all aspects of daily teaching and development activities as well as pastoral care for the children enrolled in the Centre.

2. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific (80%)

• Centre’s Programmes
  • To assist Supervisor/Snr Teacher/Teachers to plan and deliver programmes/activities in and outside the Centre to achieve learning and developmental goals in line with the Centre’s philosophy and objectives
  • Supervise students in their daily homework and plan and carry out assessment work after school homework
  • Carry out and instil daily routines in children during eg meal/fetching times
  • To assist Supervisor/Snir Teacher/Teachers to prepare learning materials and conduct age‑appropriate programmes for in‑house and outing during school holidays.
• Counselling and Guidance
  • Provide a positive learning environment and ensure the well‑being and safety of the children
  • Maintain respect and order in the Centre and during outside activities
  • Liaise with Supervisor/Snr Teacher/Teachers concerning the learning and development of the children
• Preparation of Environment
  • Prepare and carry out lessons according to the Centre’s programme guidelines
  • Encourage students’ participation in activities
  • Implement creative ideas, engaging activities, and stimulating lessons
  • Maintain safety and security rules and practices including fire drills, evacuation exercises, first aid training, safety patrols etc

General (20%)

• General Administrative Duties eg assisting the Centre Supervisor/Senior Teacher:
  • In marking students’ attendance and work.
  • Disseminating and collecting information, official forms issued by the authorities and the Centre, indemnity forms for holiday/extra‑curricular activities etc
  • Working as a team in implementing improvement and innovation in the operations of the Centre
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the Centre from time to time.
