Job description

Main Objectives

Lead end-to-end recruitment for the Asia Regional Headquarters and Singapore office while providing strategic and operational support across the Asia region. Your role spans across local hiring execution, regional capability building, employer branding, and building upon the early careers programme.

You live and breathe supply chain — particularly the excitement of global shipping. You thrive on forging connections, building relationships, and rallying top talent around a shared purpose. Your energy, professionalism and genuine passion for the maritime world make you a natural ambassador for Hapag-Lloyd.

Responsibilities

Singapore Recruitment & HR

  • Lead full-cycle hiring: craft compelling job ads, source niche maritime talent, guide candidates through selection, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

  • Partner with hiring managers across functions—from interns, contract roles to leadership ones—anticipating needs and delivering just-in-time talent solutions.

  • Prepare offers and employment contracts for new hires and internal transfers.

  • Liaise with HR and Payroll teams for budgeting, approvals, and cost tracking.

  • Be the “voice” of our brand in every internal announcement, campus event, and networking forum.

  • Support local HR activities as part of the Singapore Regional HQ team.

Managerial Capability Building & Early Careers

  • Design and deliver interactive training for hiring managers and TA colleagues on best-practice interviewing, inclusive hiring, and talent-pipelining strategies.

  • Own the Singapore internship programme: from university outreach and selection to onboarding, mentoring, and engagement, ensuring every intern feels part of the Hapag-Lloyd family.

  • Forge partnerships with government agencies and educational institutions to strengthen early-career pipelines and elevate our campus presence.

  • Maintain and update a central library of job descriptions to support consistent hiring standards.

Regional Talent Acquisition Support

  • Align global TA frameworks to local markets: develop region-wide tools, templates, and KPI dashboards that drive consistency and transparency.

  • Develop tools, templates, and KPI dashboards to improve recruitment efficiency and consistency.

  • Provide guidance on optimal sourcing models (in-house vs agency) to improve time-to-fill and cost-per-hire metrics.

  • Cultivate and manage strategic vendor partnerships—search firms, assessment platforms, outplacement providers.

  • Serve as regional subject matter expert for the ATS (MYPORT) and online tools (e.g., Predictive Index, DominoWatch).

  • Embed Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in every hiring decision, building rich, diverse candidate pipelines and tracking DEI outcomes.

Employer Branding & Insights

  • Localize and launch regional employer-brand campaigns that showcase our maritime heritage and career opportunities.

  • Produce and analyze hiring, attrition, and DEI reports—transforming data into actionable insights that guide workforce planning and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of end-to-end recruitment experience. Exposure to both in-house and agency hiring models would be advantageous.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field preferred.

  • Good understanding of full lifecycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.

  • Data driven mindset with experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS), assessment tools, and recruitment analytics; familiarity with tools such as Predictive Index or similar is a plus.

  • Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in cross-functional teams, partnering seamlessly with HRBPs, business leaders, and external vendors.

  • Passion for inclusive hiring and DEI, with a track record of embedding these principles in recruitment processes. A genuine passion for global shipping and logistics, with the ability to speak knowledgeably about our industry.

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to balance big picture thinking with the hustle of day to day recruiting. Can work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin or another regional language is advantageous to liaise with counterparts across Asia.
