Allkin's Transitional Shelter (TS) provides temporary accommodation to homeless individuals and families who have exhausted all other means of accommodation and require social work intervention and willing to work with caseworkers to achieve long‑term housing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage referrals, assessments, and admissions into the Transitional Shelter, ensuring suitability and readiness for intervention.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, case planning, and interventions for individuals and families residing in the shelter.
  • Build professional and therapeutic relationships with clients to understand needs, strengths, risks, and goals, with particular attention to children and other vulnerable family members.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review intervention and case plans in consultation with supervisors/centre managers.
  • Document casework processes, progress, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner, in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Organise, coordinate and conduct case conferences with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Coordinate and monitor service delivery with community partners to ensure integrated and timely support for clients.
  • Plan, facilitate, and evaluate therapeutic group work and programmes for individuals or targeted client groups.
  • Identify and engage suitable clients for group work, programmes, and developmental activities, especially children and vulnerable individuals.
  • Develop and implement discharge and transition plans, including referrals to appropriate community partners for continued social support.
  • Conduct post‑discharge follow‑ups to monitor client outcomes and liaise with partner agencies on progress and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with community agencies in the planning and delivery of programmes, outreach, and joint initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, update case files, and prepare reports for administrative, reporting, and intervention purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, or Post‑Graduate Diploma in Social Work.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct social work practice experience, preferably with vulnerable individuals or families.
  • Sound knowledge of casework, group work, and community resources within the social service ecosystem.
  • Strong engagement, assessment, and intervention skills, with the ability to work with clients in complex and high‑stress situations.
  • Good documentation, report‑writing, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, resilience, and sound judgement in practice.
