Job Summary
The Small Business Clients segment within SME Banking at Standard Chartered Bank focuses on providing companies with a turnover of up to US$25m in Singapore a suite of products that meet their financing requirements.
- As a SME Mortgage Sales Specialist you will support your team while actively acquiring New-to-Bank (NTB) SME Mortgage relationships and cross‑selling the entire SME Banking product suite to meet and exceed quarterly sales targets as outlined in the "Quarterly Scorecard".
- You will be responsible for ensuring that NTBs consistently comment on the quality of your service.
Performance Measures
- Achieve quarterly New Sales Revenue (NSR) targets through new client acquisitions and active cross‑selling of SME Banking products.
Risk Measures
- Maintain complete compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Protect the bank’s interests at all times; raise any risk concerns in writing immediately to seniors.
- Comply with all bank policies without delay.
- Engage in active cross‑selling so each NTB holds at least two products (PPC).
- Drive cross‑product sales and active referrals to the Affluent (Individual) level.
- Revert to all customer queries within two business days on a reasonable basis.

- Be punctual at work and when visiting customers.
- Show self‑drive, self‑motivation, and a proactive approach toward resolving issues.
- Remain responsive, contactable and accountable to clients and internal stakeholders.

- Assume multiple functions (double hats) as required.
Skills and Experience
- Familiar with basic business mortgage financing principles, including the TDSR framework and applications.
- Keen understanding of adherence to credit underwriting requirements.
- Knowledge of the competitive environment to position the bank’s products appropriately.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Tertiary education.
- At least 3 years of experience in banking.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
- Familiar with customer due diligence processes, including FATCA adherence.
- Experience in business banking.
- Knowledge of basic working‑capital financing cycle and products for operating entities.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
