A leading silicon wafer manufacturer in Singapore is seeking a supervisor for their shipping department. This role requires a Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Logistics and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent supervision and communication skills, with specific knowledge of SAP systems. Responsibilities include managing shipping activities, ensuring compliance with procedures, and facilitating the training and development of staff. The position may require on-call support outside regular working hours.
1. Supervise the shipping department activities. Set priorities and schedule work load to ensure all customers orders as well as internal customer requirements are met. Administer company’s policy and procedures. Maintain area and equipment in safe working condition.
2. Assure all appropriate systems, procedures, documentation and performance indicators relating to shipping functions are established and continuously improved. Keep accurate reports, including daily and monthly reports.
3. Assure that actual activities are in compliance with documented procedures and discrepancies are identified and appropriately addressed.
4. Maintain effective, professional communications and participate in problem solving activities within plant customers and with freight forwarders. Assure that the department understands and achieves expected levels of customer service, response time, follow-up, creditability and availability.
5. Facilitate the training and development of subordinates. Evaluate the performance of subordinate and develop action plans for improvement. Develop goals and objectives for the department consistent with corporate objective, improve teamwork and growth in individual professional competence.
6. Provide ongoing coaching, leadership and supervision to all staff in shipping department.
7. Facilitate on-time and quality shipments.
8. Available to be on call to support outside working hours if needed and work varied schedules.
9. Schedule finished product delivery methods and work closely with sales personnel on customer impact.
- Diploma/ Degree in Engineering, Logistics
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent Supervision, leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain systems and documentation.
- Ability to comprehend and operate electronic and physical material tracking systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP system
-Experience in lead (direct report) is a MUST for this role
