Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience as a Service Technician in scientific/lab equipment or industrial sector
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve technical issues
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and manuals
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment and tools including multimeters
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems incl. cooling/heating/pressure/vacuum/stirring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and team
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites
• Attention to detail and maintaining service records
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to work independently or in a team

About the role

HCS Scientific & Chemical Pte Ltd is seeking a dedicatedService Technician – Scientific Equipment to join our maintenance and engineering team on a full-time basis. Based in the Penjuru Place West Region. This role is essential to ensuring that our scientific equipment operates atpeak performance for our clients. As a Service Technician, you will be at the forefront of maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing scientific instruments, directly contributing to the reliability and success ofour customers' operations. This position offers the opportunity to developexpertise in complex equipment whilst providing exceptional technical supportin a dynamic and growing company.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on scientific and laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
2. Diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
3. Conduct routine inspections and calibrations of scientific instruments in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
4. Install and configure new scientific equipment at customer facilities, ensuring proper setup and functionality
5. Respond promptly to service calls and technical support requests, providing efficient on-site and remote troubleshooting assistance
6. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
7. Liaise effectively with customers to understand their technical requirements, provide guidance on equipment usage, and ensure customer satisfaction
8. Order and manage spare parts and components, maintaining inventory levels and ensuring availability for repairs
9. Stay current with technical updates, software upgrades, and new equipment technologies relevant to the scientific equipment industry
10. Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies whilst working in laboratory and industrial environments

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or degree in engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional qualification
2. Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar maintenance role, preferably within the scientific equipment, laboratory instrumentation, or industrial equipment sector
3. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
4. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
5. Competence in using diagnostic equipment and tools, including multimeters and service tools
6. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with an understanding of cooling, heating, pressure, vacuum and stirring equipment
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and internal team members
8. Valid driving licence andwillingness to travel to customer sites within the region
9. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate service records and documentation
10. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
