Job summary

Chemoscience Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Field Service Engineer to join our engineering team. This full-time role is based in the Woodlands North region, delivering on-site maintenance and expert technical support to clients, ensuring equipment reliability and optimal performance.

You will install, service and troubleshoot complex systems, travel to customer sites, document activities, and work with the head office to improve service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a field service engineer, technician or similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities under pressure.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals and drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers and internal teams.
• Reliable transport and a valid driving licence; willingness to travel to client sites.
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
• Preferred: CMMS and service technology experience.

About the role

Chemoscience Pte Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a full-time position based in the Woodlands North Region, where you will be responsible for delivering expert technical support and maintenance services to our valued clients. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and optimal performance of our equipment and systems at customer sites. This position offers the opportunity to work independently in the field whilst maintaining strong connections with our head office team, providing you with both autonomy and collaborative support.

Key responsibilities

1. Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on customer equipment and systems in accordance with established protocols and service schedules
2. Diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective troubleshooting solutions to minimise downtime
3. Installing, configuring and commissioning equipment at customer sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and specifications
4. Performing routine inspections and safety checks to identify potential problems before they scale
5. Documenting all service activities, maintenance records and technical observations in detail for client records and internal reporting
6. Communicating effectively with customers to explain technical findings, recommend solutions and provide guidance on equipment operation
7. Managing spare parts inventory and ensuring appropriate tools and equipment are maintained for field operations
8. Responding promptly to service calls and emergency requests to resolve critical issues
9. Supporting the continuous improvement of service delivery processes and contributing to the enhancement of our field operations

What we’re looking for

1. Degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering disciplines
2. Proven experience working as a field service engineer, technician or in a similar technical field-based role, preferably within the life science, manufacturing, or industrial equipment sector
3. Strong technical knowledge of equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair procedures
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capability to diagnose complex technical issues under pressure
5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, manuals and service documentation
6. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse customers and internal stakeholders
7. Reliable transportation and a valid driving licence, as this role requires extensive travel to customer sites
8. Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development to maintain technical competency
9. Preferred: Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and service technologies
