THE ROLE

This is a lead engineering position responsible for Product Engineering program technical planning for next‑generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating problems, solutions, and project status up to the executive level. You will provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers and influence others as a technical leader. You have the capability assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives, while dealing with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads product development group’s efforts to characterize the product to customer specifications
  • Solves sophisticated, novel, and non‑recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/methods and leads development and implementation
  • Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolve quality issues
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience being accountable for results for multiple products or large projects, as well as for management of interdependencies with related areas
  • Experience with being responsible for projects or processes of significant technical importance and for results that cross engineering project areas
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines
