Overview

The “Metabolism and Neurological Diseases” laboratory in the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR invites applications for a position as Scientist (Postdoctoral Research Fellow) within the Neurometabolism division. The goal of the research programme is to derive clinically relevant neural cell types (both CNS and peripheral nervous system) from induced pluripotent stem cells for development of novel therapies. This will be achieved through enhanced biological understanding of the disease progression and identification of new disease targets.

Qualifications

Interested candidates should have a PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, Stem Cells and Regenerative Biology or a relevant field. The ideal candidate should possess the following characteristics:

  • Passionate and committed to advance the frontiers of Stem Cell/Neuroscience research
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A team player who not only works well with colleagues but also excels independently
  • Proven track record of scientific research evidenced by a strong publication record
  • Experience with iPSCs, neural differentiation and neural organoid cultures would be highly desirable
  • Highly motivated, meticulous and organized
