Job Description & Requirements

What you will do:
  • Define the skills that the player must possess and their efficiency in overcoming the various challenges around core gameplay and product mechanics and improve mechanics to allow players to showcase these skills.
  • Consider, plan and detail every element of a new product including the setting, rules, story flow, character interface and modes of play.
  • Conduct market research to understand what your target audience wants.
  • Adjust the product systems so that the player can establish strategies without any of them being more dominant than another or made redundant while ensuring cohesiveness between game systems.
  • Formalize and document the gameplay to communicate them to the programming and design teams.
  • Work in collaboration with the Al design team to create the typical game situations that will be used in the levels.
  • Work on control ergonomics and menu functionality principles.
  • Maintain and update the team's design documents.
  • Verify that the developed systems are coherent with the work of the key specialties within the team.
  • Carry out all of the adjustments to facilitate product and system control and understanding.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Game Design, Computer Science, Multimedia Arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing core gameplay mechanics and game systems. Demonstrates strong logical thinking, a creative approach to problem-solving, and outstanding cross-functional collaboration skills. Possesses a deep understanding of player psychology and is highly detail-oriented and goal-driven.
  • Solid understanding of the game development lifecycle. Ability to detail complex game elements—including rules, story flows, and character interfaces.
  • Proficiency in formalizing and maintaining documentation. Hands-on experience in balancing game systems to ensure no dominant strategies exist, along with a strong grasp of control ergonomics and menu functionality principles. Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity or Unreal) is a significant plus.
  • Passion for the gaming industry. Ability to conduct market research to identify target audience trends and a commitment to verifying that all systems remain coherent with the overall product vision.
