Job description

The incumbent will play a crucial role in strengthening NTUC Women and Family Unit's (U WAF) capacity to influence policy, drive advocacy, and create awareness across various platforms. This position will lead efforts that directly address the needs of women workers and caregivers, positioning WAF as a leader in creating progressive workplaces and ensuring consistent, impactful communication across all levels.

Key Responsibilities
Policy Influence
  • Develop and implement strategies to influence policy decisions related to women at work, family-friendly workplaces, and caregiver support.
  • Research and analyze current policies affecting women workers and caregivers.
  • Draft policy papers, position statements, and recommendations.
  • Engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and partners to advocate for progressive workplace policies.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders internally (unions, policy division) to engage with government bodies, employers, and other stakeholders to advocate for policies that promote progressive workplaces and support women’s career advancement.
Communication Strategy
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans across various channels to raise awareness of WAF’s advocacy efforts and key issues affecting women in the workforce.
Research and Analysis
  • Conduct research to identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the landscape of women’s employment and caregiving and use this data to inform advocacy strategies.
Partnership Development
  • Establish and nurture relationships with external partners, including NGOs, academic institutions, and corporate allies, to support WAF’s advocacy goals.
Campaign Leadership
  • Design and lead advocacy campaigns that mobilize support for WAF’s initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Degree holder with at least 5 years of working experience.
  • Strong interest and understanding of issues and challenges of working women.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to think critically and is resourceful with ability to perform in fast‑paced environment.
