About the Role
We are seeking a visionary and results‑driven Strategic Management Director to join the leadership team in Singapore. This is a critical executive role responsible for shaping Galatek's long‑term corporate strategy, driving global operational excellence, and ensuring the successful execution of our ambitious growth plans across all markets and product lines. This director will serve as a key partner to the CEO and senior leadership, translating our innovative R&D work into sustainable, scalable, and profitable business outcomes.
Job Summary
As the Strategic Management Director, you will be accountable for establishing, communicating, and driving the implementation of Galatek's global corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission to enhance human life and shape a sustainable future.
- Corporate Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and annual review of the long‑term corporate strategy, including market entry, product portfolio roadmap, and core business unit objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee strategic planning and execution across all global R&D and delivery centres (Germany, US, Japan, China, Singapore). Establish and monitor global operational metrics (KPIs) to drive efficiency and performance.
- Global Cross‑Functional Leadership: Facilitate seamless collaboration and alignment between key functions (e.g., R&D, Engineering, Business Development, Finance) across all global sites, ensuring integration of designs and systems into the overall business strategy.
- Business Development & Expansion: Identify and evaluate new strategic business opportunities, partnerships, and potential M&A activities to accelerate market penetration and technological leadership.
- Resource and Budget Management: Provide strategic oversight of resource allocation, budgets, and timelines for major corporate initiatives, ensuring deliverables meet both technical and business objectives.
- Executive Reporting: Report directly to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing regular, high‑level updates on strategic progress, global operational challenges, and market opportunities.
- Risk Management: Lead the identification and mitigation of strategic and operational risks, proactively addressing potential threats to the company's growth and stability (analogous to DFMEA for product strategy).
- Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and develop a high‑performing strategic management and planning team, setting the vision and goals for strategic execution across the organization.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Media, Public Relations or a related strategic management field (e.g., MBA is highly preferred).
- Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or a related senior executive role within a technology‑focused B2B environment, with at least 5+ years in a Director or equivalent leadership capacity.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience and deep understanding of the Semiconductor Manufacturing, Biopharmaceutical, or other high‑technology capital equipment industries.
- Strategic Acumen: Proven track record in developing, communicating, and successfully executing complex, multi‑year global corporate strategies and expansion plans.
- Operational Transition: Significant experience in leading major business transitions, such as market entry, scale‑up, or the industrialization of new product lines on a global scale (analogous to leading new product transitions/scale‑up).
- Global Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and culturally diverse global environment, collaborating with teams across different continents.
- Communication & Leadership: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to influence and drive alignment among C‑level executives, global stakeholders, and diverse teams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel internationally up to 25‑40% of the time for executive meetings, strategic partner engagement, and site oversight (analogous to travel for new product transition and customer engagement).
