Senior Cybersecurity Talent & Leadership Development Specialist (1-Year Contract)

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Talent & Leadership Development Specialist to architect, lead, and drive our organisation’s cybersecurity talent strategy. This is a high-impact role positioned at the intersection of human capital strategy, cybersecurity capability development, and data analytics.

You will be responsible for shaping the career pathways, leadership pipeline, and professional development frameworks that enable our cybersecurity workforce—including future CISOs—to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

This role leads the end-to-end design, implementation, and management of talent and capability frameworks for our cybersecurity division. You will champion the development of a robust leadership pipeline, strengthen organisational readiness, and build long-term cybersecurity competencies through data-driven insights and targeted programs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Comprehensive Talent & Career Framework Design
  • Develop and operationalise a full talent mobility and career pathway framework for cybersecurity professionals.

  • Partner with senior leadership to define critical skills, competencies, rotational pathways, and mentorship structures for all key roles.

  • Build specialised advancement tracks for aspiring and current Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs).

2. Holistic Learning & Development Strategy
  • Design a structured L&D framework tailored to cybersecurity skills and leadership development.

  • Build curricula aligned to advanced CISO competencies and emerging cybersecurity trends.

  • Implement systems to track skills, certifications, competency levels, and development progress across the workforce.

3. Program Management & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead all cybersecurity talent development programs and act as the primary liaison for participants, CISOs, and internal stakeholders.

  • Promote program adoption, provide ongoing guidance, and gather feedback for continuous program improvement.

4. Data-Driven Reporting & Strategic Insights
  • Develop KPIs and benchmarks to measure initiative effectiveness and business impact.

  • Translate program performance into clear dashboards, reports, and insights using tools such as Tableau and Excel.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations on workforce development, succession planning, and capability investments.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline.

  • 8+ years of experience in L&D, talent management, workforce development, or talent mobility.

  • Proven track record in designing and deploying large-scale talent frameworks or leadership development programs.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills across all levels, including senior leadership.

  • High analytical capability with the ability to transform complex data into visual insights.

  • Proficiency in Tableau and MS Excel; experience with Python for data analysis is strongly preferred.

  • Certifications in HR, data analytics, or cybersecurity (e.g., SHRM-CP, Security+) are an advantage.
