Job summary

A leading manufacturer in Singapore seeks a finance professional responsible for cost analysis and budget management. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional accountancy qualification. With a minimum of 3 years in finance, especially in costing functions, the role involves preparing reports, supporting audits, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Ideal candidates possess strong Excel skills and effective communication abilities.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Accounting or its equivalent.
  • Professional accountancy qualification ACCA or equivalent required.

Job description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure daily cost roll-up activities are completed within deadlines and maintain an up-to-date material master list according to schedule & timeline as setup
  • Ensure all budget and forecast reports and ensure schedules are prepared and updated on a timely basis, and streamline data templates for improved integration
  • Review and provide assistance on other costing-related matters as needed.
  • Conduct internal sampling tests, surprise counts, and year-end physical counts for inventories and fixed assets.
  • Support external and internal audits with costing-related documentation as well as on financial matters
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements in company
  • Updates on monthly management reports with standard vs actual cost variance analysis and cost monitoring advice
  • Prepare on yearly budget up to 5 years plan and assist on year-end inventory stock take arrangement
  • Internal control on costing to ensure purchase/procedure transaction by planner/buyer are aligned with policy
  • Ad-hoc project/assignment that may be assign from time to time when necessary
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Accounting or its equivalent Degree,
  • Professional accountancy qualification ACCA or equivalent
Skills
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in finance especially costing function
  • Proficient in using Windows software applications such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Familiarity with Oracle is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
  • Willing to extend working hours as and when required
